Message The dual pressure switch "reads" off high pressure side line pressure.

The high pressure side needs to be approx 23 PSI + before the switch will allow the compressor to turn on when first refilling the system after a complete evac. It takes mine a couple minutes before the can can pump enough refrigerant into the low side line to build up enough pressure in the high side before the switch will allow the compressor on.
